A downloadable Game Demo

Backhill is a first-person horror game demo set in a creepy hospital, which patients do not seem to leave. After finding out you were in a car accident life only gets worse. You step into the hole in the wall which enters you into the nightmare realm of Backhill. Your only hope is a torch, and notes left by previous unfortunates who have been stranded in this world. Survive, for that's all you can do.

Great demo can't wait to play the full game!

Creo que me quedé con ganas de más. Más historia, más trasfondo, más sustos, más puzzles, más retos. La atmósfera terrorífica fue espectacular.

This game had a very creepy atmosphere. Great job!

Nicely done. I found the tension of avoiding the creature pretty much perfect, I usually hate avoid-the-monster horror, but the set route made it a lot more fun to avoid. Also, the fact that it is silent was really creeping me out, like I jumped when I first saw it, then got chills the whole time I was in that room.

Thanks for sharing this game.  I liked the atmosphere, graphics and overall ambience.  The way the character moves quickly is also a bonus for me, often the characters move super slow in horror games which can frustrate me.

The keys were fairly well placed, not obvious but not impossible to find either.

Points for improvement could be auto reading of the notes once they are picked up and some more brain power to the AI.  The game was also quite short but I understand it's a demo/teaser.  I would look forward to seeing the full game released and would certainly like to play it.

Very solid little game, I loved the visuals and the environment I just thought it was perfect for a horror game setting. I liked that they keys were easy enough to find to find but not insanely obvious either. Good job!.

Hey Edge Muffin. Thank you for playing our demo, we're so glad that you enjoyed it! If there are any changes you would like to suggest which could enhance gameplay please let us know!

Fun little game. It checks all the usual boxes; it might need a little bit of polish and updating but good work overall. I hope you keep making new games and expanding your skill set.

Hi Boundless, thank you so much for reviewing our demo. The clip was very funny! Thank you also for all your kind words, we are only a small university studio and this is for our dissertation so any feedback is truly welcome.

Not entirely sure what happened with the notes haha but we're glad you were able to get to the player menu, that seems to have been the biggest issue with the demo so far.

Once again thank you so much for the review, the kind words, and the feedback!

It certainly shows promise, a bit of polish, some more content, and maybe make an actual attack animation, and this could be a decent little free game.

Hey dude, thank you so much for testing our game it really helps! So sorry you got stuck behind the door haha. We've taken notes on your experience and will be developing the game over time. At the moment this is just a demo for a game but with the support from people like yourself, we may make this into a full-length game!

Once again thank you so much for the review, it really helps us better the game and was really entertaining to watch.

Nice well-made game.  Atmosphere and the lighting were made well. Some items couldn't be picked up and it would have been nice to read the notes.  Overall, I liked the game. Good job! Game here:

Hey Hoodtastic, thank you for the review it was very entertaining! We hope you enjoyed the demo. You've given us a lot of good feedback which we will be using to improve our game.

We're going to remove that torch in the Ward with the interaction icon, bit of a slip up on our part haha. We're also going to try and make it more obvious how to access the player menus so people can read the notes.

Once again thank you so much for the review it really means a lot!

thank you wonderful game

Hi, just wanted to thank you for playing our demo. The game is still very much in the development stages so any feedback is greatly appreciated. Very pleased you managed to get the player menus working, it seems to be one of the things most players have missed haha.

As I said, the game is still in development and we are looking to better our game based on the feedback received from your playthrough so thank you!

Cool game! Is there a way to read the notes that can be picked up? I couldn't figure out if I could or not.

The third tab in the inventory that looks like a clipboard should be it

Hey dude, thank you so much for the playthrough. We've taken on the feedback you've given us and will be making changes to improve our game very soon! Once again thank you for the review!

Regarding the notes. Player menus can be accessed by pressing the ESC key. From there you can read all the notes you collect.

We're going to make how to access the player menu more obvious to the player using your feedback. What was the first key you attempted to read the notes? We would love to hear back from you.

T.L Studios

The first key I tried was 'I' then 'TAB'. Those I find are usually to check inventory or notes in games, not all games, just most. Great demo!

Perfect! Thank you for your input, we'll make some changes to the keybindings for the player menus.
